Prayers for Recovery
Victims of Addiction
by: Bill P. and Lisa D. - The 12 Step Prayer Book (adapted)
O blessed God, you come to all that seek You.
Look with compassion upon all those who through addiction have lost thier health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of Your unfailing mercy; remove from them the fears that beset them; strengthen them in the work of thier recovery. And to those who care for them, give patient understanding and persevering love.

Higher Power, Who fills our whole life, and Whose presence we find wherever we go, preserve us who travel the road of recovery, surround us with Your loving car, protect us from every danger, and bring us safely to our journey's end.
Help Me to Stay Sober
Beliefnet member dorjem
Dear God,
Thank you for this day. Help me to stay clean and sober, just for this day. Help me to recognize your hand in all things. Thank you for the blessings I understand and the ones I don't. Thank you for the miracles I see and the ones I don't. Thank you for your spirit who always abides in me. I ask that I may be with your spirit today. Cleanse my mind of all darkness and fill it with love and light. Let me be o.k. with this day no matter what it brings. Thank you for everything that's in my life and everything that's not.
Prayer for Those Addicted to Drugs
by: Vienna Cobb Anderson
Most loving God,
we ask your blessing upon all
who suffer from addiction.
Strengthen them to reach out for help.
Enable them to take the first step to recovery.
Bless them with the persistence to persevere
in the fight to be free.
Give courage and hope to their families,
drawing them close together
in the power of your love,
which alone can transform our living.
Amen.
Let Me See Release From My Addiction
by: Maureen Pratt
O Lord, with each new day, help me to be strong and continue to trust you.
Bring into my eyes and heart
an honesty that sees my true situation
and finds support in your goodness and guidance.
Let me see release from my addiction
and a renewed joy in living from this day forward.
