Tonight I plan on doing my Reed moon ritual, even though the full moon isn’t until tomorrow night.
I plan on honoring my ancestors, as is traditional on this moon. This is a practice that I’m finding increasingly meaningful. In relation to other magick, I’ve read that it is a time to focus on fertility, love and home matters. Divination, meditation, spirit guides and honoring the cycle of death and rebirth are also popular themes.
In accordance with my efforts to try to focus on inner changes and changes that will benefit others, rather than outer manifestations that serve selfish needs, I will focus this esbat on bringing an end to those things within myself that seperate me from loving relationships with myself and others.
I also plan on doing a journey found in Celtic Shaman A Practical Guide by John Matthews where I’ll confront my fears and self limiting beliefs.
Lastly, with Thanksgiving fast approaching I plan to offer my gratitude for my family, including my son’s father and his family.
I’d be making cornbread as we speak, but I’m out of eggs. Unprepared in some respects, I’m prepared for my Lughnasadh ritual in other respects. I plan to call upon Danu and Lugh and celebrate my biggest accomplishment of the year, getting my own place with my son. I can’t believe it’s been almost a year. We’ve had more than a few rough patches, but we’ve gotten through them.
I also plan to ask for inspiration in my career… I could definitely use some. To say that I’m uninspired is a gross understament. Bored to death would better sum it up.
Lastly I plan to offer some cornbread with some symbols of my bad habits, in hopes that they may be removed.
